Vera Bianchini is the Director of Film Programs at Zeitgeist and has over a decade of experience in film festivals and community-based arts. She has worked with organizations such as MSP Film, the Upper Midwest Film Office, and Oscar-qualifying festivals including Sundance and Chicago International. Vera has also produced several independent films, with recent credits including A Kidnapping (2024), I & Me (2024), and Ish Meets a Mermaid (2025).

Fun Food Night at the home of Doug Stevens and Paul Eckhardt at 4869 1^st Ave North in the town of Rice Lake.  Thursday June 25th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The road First Ave North is between the Martin Rd and East Calvary Rd. It will be barbequed meats on homemade buns. There will be a wild rice burger option. A couple of summer salads with homemade cookies for dessert. A limit of 15 people. $20.00 fee to the Duluth Superior ECO Rotary Club

The August Fun Foods Night will be at the home of Mark and Karen Niedermier. The plant-based menu will include summer vegetable paella, a variety of salads and an ice cream cake from Love Creamery! Beer, wine and soft drinks will be on hand.

Alexis Elder is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and head of the Department of Philosophy at UMD. Her research focuses on ethical implications of emerging technologies, drawing on historical traditions to understand these modern issues in the context of human values. She is the author of two books: The Ethics of Digital Ghosts: Confucian, Mohist, and Zhuangist Perspectives on AI and Death, published last year, and Friendship, Robots, and Social Media: False Friends and Second Selves, published in 2018, both through Routledge.

Join Christy Rounds for a FFN Picnic at the Enger Tower Peace Garden on Thursday, September 3rd! Food will include an entree Asian Chicken Salad (vegetarian option available) and cheddar muffins with scallions. Non-alcoholic sumac shrub with grapefruit soda will be served as a beverage. Gin will be available to add as well. 

As a Sustainability Specialist at Resource Renew, Emma Pardini champions public education, outreach, communications, and compliance assistance in recycling, reuse, and waste reduction.
She serves as the vice president of Reuse Minnesota, collaborates to host Twin Ports Green Drinks, and is a proud Duluth Superior Eco-Rotarian.

Join fellow Twin Ports Rotarians and guests to enjoy a performance of  A Chorus Line by the Duluth Playhouse at the Norshor Theater on Thursday, Septmber 10. The Pre-Show Party begins at 6:00 PM, and showtime in 7:30 PM.
